How to get to Slovakia

BY PLANE

The budget airline Ryanair operates flights to Bratislava from various European cities www.ryanair.com These flights can be quite cheap, so if you are arriving from outside Europe, you might end up saving a lot of money by flying to a bigger airport and then connecting to Bratislava.

The alternative is Vienna Airport, which is just 35 km from Bratislava. It also operates a much greater number of long-distance flights. There are also direct flights operated between Vienna and Košice. www.austrian.com Buses leave for Bratislava hourly, going from Vienna Airport straight to the city centre or to main bus station in Bratislava.

Other options include airports in Prague and Budapest where EasyJet, Wizz air or Ryanair airlines operate.

There are also direct flights operated from Prague, Bratislava and Kiev to Košice by Czech Airlines. www.csa.cz  There are new flight connections from London-Luton, Doncaster and Milan-Bergamo to Košice and London-Luton to Poprad-Tatry operated by Wizz air. www.wizzair.com

You can also fly to Krakow airport where EasyJet or Ryanair airlines operate and Rzeszow where Ryanair airline operates.
