Travel Insurance

At OutdoorSlovakia.com we believe that your safety and holiday enjoyment are very important. Things can go wrong on holiday. Check your policy documents to see what would be covered: accident, illness, money or luggage stolen, your visit might be cancelled or cut short through injury or illness. Cover may also be provided if you are needed at home because of fire, storm or flood, or if you are required by the police to come home following a burglary. All these risks and more can be cover by taking out travel insurance. All clients must have valid travel insurance during visiting Slovakia.

All clients from the European Union should have the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). A free card that gives you access to medically necessary, state-provided healthcare during a temporary stay in any of the 28 EU countries, Iceland, Lichtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. When you show your EHIC, you will receive treatment under the same conditions and at the same cost (free in some countries) as people in that country. Be aware that each country’s healthcare system is different. Services that cost you nothing at home might NOT be free in another country. The EHIC is NOT an alternative to travel insurance. It does not cover any private healthcare or costs such as a return flight to your home country or lost/stolen property.

OutdoorSlovakia.com provides mountain rescue insurance for clients however this only covers emergency situations whilst in the mountains.
