Day2

Destination Time Itinerary  

The Demänovská Valley
The most beautiful and the best-known valley of the Low Tatras, 15 kilometres long. It is the main
centre of tourism in the Low Tatras mountain range. There are plenty of places to stay and
eat in the valley. There are also many caves here, the best - known ones of which are Demänovská Freedom Cave and
Demänovská Ice Cave. In Krčahovo, there are reconstructed World War II partisans’ bunkers.


Chopok

The second highest peak of the Low Tatras with an altitude of 2024 meters above sea level. There is a meteorological station and a cottage (Stone cottage) on its peak.

Hiking to Ďumbier
The highest peak of the Low Tatras with an altitude of 2043
meters above sea level. In the past iron and gold were mined in the hillsides of Ďumbier. The remains of this activity, such as mining tunnels and routes, can still be seen to this day. On the hillside of Ďumbier there is the Cottage of M.R. Štefánik (1740 meters above sea level).

Hiking to Jasná - Vrbické pleso is a glacial lake and the largest natural lake in the Low Tatras. It is situated at 1113 meters above sea level in the western part of Demänovská valley.

Aquapark – Tatralandia
is the largest all-year-round water park for fun and relaxation in Slovakia. It is situated among the breathtaking mountain scenery on the North bank of the Liptovská Mara dam, offering views of the West and Low Tatras.

The Demänovská Ice Cave
presents the
northern part of
world renowned
Demänovské Caves.
It stands out by the
occurrence of its
permanent ice fill,
bizarre and mighty
shapes of
underground spaces
and rare cave fauna,
as well as its rich
history.

The Demänovská Cave of Liberty
has been captivating
visitors for many
years with its rich
flowstone fill of
various colours, the
magical flow of the
underground
Demänovka, as well
as the charming
pools. It is the most
visited show cave in
Slovakia.

The wooden articled Evangelical church near the
village Svätý Kríž is
one of the largest
wooden buildings in
Central Europe.
It is unique for its
bulk, inner
trimming area and
cross-shape.

Vlkolínec
is a picturesque
village in the Velká
Fatra Mountains
and one of ten
Slovak villages
which have been
granted the status
of a folk architecture
reservation - since
the village is
untouched and has
preserved
historical monument
s from the 15th
century. This
extraordinary and
remarkable oasis of
folk architecture was
included in the
UNESCO List of
World Cultural and
Natural Heritage
sites in 1993.

Thermal Park Bešeňová
This fine park,
located in the
beautiful setting of
the Choč Mountains
overlooking both the
Low and Western
Tatras, boasts a wide
variety of three
indoor and thirteen
outdoor pools, nine
outdoor water slides,
a number of
children's slides and
hot tubs. Relaxation and
entertainment for
the whole family are
provided all year
long.

Day6

Destination Time Itinerary  

The Prosiek Valley
is ranked among the
most beautiful
valleys in the Choč
Mountains. At a
length of 3.5 km,
there are a great
number of beauty
spots, high rock
walls, waterfalls, and
interesting
mountain flora,
as well as plentiful
kinds of forest
growth. The valley is
a part of the Prosiek
and Kvačany Valley
national nature
reserve.

The Kvačany Valley has a
character of a rock
gorge. There are
watermills, at
present protected as
valuable technical
sites, which have
been built in Oblazy.
There is a road
running across the
valley, high above
the riverbed of the
stream, which forms
many of the
cascades and
waterfalls in the
gorges. At each
stopring point of the
educational hiking
trail one can learn
about the many
interesting scenic
spots of the Kvačany
Valley.

Destination Time Itinerary  

Havránok
The unique
archaeological park
situated next to the
Liptovská Mara
dam. It is a magical
place and a visit to
this Park maybe a
great experience. It
depicts the presence
of Celts in the Liptov
region in the era
between the 4th and
1st centuries BC.
Here archaeologists
discovered remnant
of a settlement from
the Upper Iron Age,
referred to as the
LaTene period.

The Liptovská
Mara Dam
It is the largest
water reservoir in
Slovakia in terms of
the confined water
volume. It is also the
most important
summer holiday
resort.

The Open-Air
Museum
Pribylina
is the most attractive
landmark of the
Liptov region,
displaying
typical folk
architecture. The
impetus behind the
establishment of the
museum was the
extensive flooding
caused by the
construction of the
Liptovská Mara
dam. The most
important cultural
monuments were
moved from eleven
flooded villages.

Additional info

In order to protect the nature and to ensure your safety, hiking tracks in the Low Tatras are not accessible to public between 1 October and 30 June. Enjoy your hiking in the daytime, between an hour after sunrise and hour before sunset.
However some tracks are open during that time. Please contact us and we will do our best to book your place.
